How this list is put together

• Rating count is the closest public stand-in for how many units have actually moved. These are the listings with the deepest pool of buyer feedback in our categories, whatever the average happens to be. Where the rule and a hunch disagree, the rule wins, because a hunch is not something a reader can check. The rule is applied the same way every day, so the page means the same thing on every visit. It answers one question properly rather than several badly, and the other questions have pages of their own.
